Job summary: Looking for a friendly and high-energy individual with a great sense of humor who is passionate about working with children and who can perform both clinical and administrative duties in our pediatric clinic. The individual must also enjoy working with a diverse group of patients and willing to go above and beyond to meet patients’ needs. The Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) must be competent to perform all the duties listed below, conscientious, professional and dependable.

Duties include:

• Assists in providing total care according to physician’s orders and individual patient needs in accordance with recognized standards of practice and our clinic’s protocol and standards.
• Assists in assessing and documenting pertinent information that reflects the patient’s clinical condition, with respect to meeting all patient needs (physical, emotional, spiritual). Reports the same to the physician.
• Assists in maintaining accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care given.
• Scribing for physician
• Administers vaccines as directed on a daily basis and keeps accurate records
• Serves a VFC Coordinator
• Assists with patient and/or family education.
• Prepares patients for the physician’s examination and possible procedures, assists in performing treatments
• Performs simple diagnostic tests, collects specimens, prepares and administers medications as required
• Performs CBC & Lead tests as needed
• Draws blood for various lab tests
• Keeps abreast of current nursing trends and continuing education
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the state of Mississippi or current licensure in one of the COMPAC states
• Convinced that evidenced based medicine practice is best for patients and help to promote a healthy and active lifestyle
• Excellent mental, physical and emotional health
• Committed to living a healthy and active lifestyle in order to lead by example
• At least one (1) year of clinical practice as a licensed practical nurse in a Pediatric setting or Hospital in the United States is preferred. But new graduates who are eager to learn and interested in becoming a pediatric RN or LPN are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent writing skills and communication skills
• Has above average phlebotomy skills
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines
• Ensures all communications reflect the standards and mission of the clinic.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Monday – Thursday: 7:50am – 5:00pm
